President Armen Sarkissian spoke on the phone with President Aleksandar Vučić: Serbia is ready to assist Armenia in the fight against coronavirus

President Armen Sarkissian spoke today on the phone with the President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić.

The Presidents spoke about the situation created by the coronavirus pandemic, exchanged information on containing the virus and measures to eliminate its consequences, discussed avenues to mitigate the situation.

The President of Serbia underscored that his country is ready if necessary to assist Armenia and noted that they are would like to see the friendly people of Armenia overcoming rapidly the pandemic and its consequences. President Sarkissian thanked his Serbian colleague and said that after coordination with the Ministry of Health, relevant information would be passed to the Serbian side.

Presidents Armen Sarkissian and Aleksandar Vučić spoke also about steps aimed at the development of bilateral relations and agreements reached during the President’s last year official visit to the Republic of Serbia, including opening of the Serbian embassy in Armenia which was planned for this spring but was postponed because of the pandemic.

The Presidents reiterated that all agreements reached between the two friendly states aimed at the development of the relations must be implemented. They underlined once again great potential for cooperation particularly in the areas of technologies, food security, and agriculture and expressed confidence that mutual abolishment of the visa regime would invigorate business ties and tourism.
