President Armen Sarkissian hosted the second group of French medical personnel: it is commendable that you have come to help and support your Armenian colleagues and our people

President Armen Sarkissian hosted today the second group of French medical personnel who have arrived to Armenia to assist their Armenian colleagues in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. Present at the meeting were the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Armenia Jonathan Lacôte, Executive Director of the Armenian National Interest Fund David Papazian, first Deputy Minister of Health Anahit Avanessian.

President Sarkissian welcomed the French doctors and among them our compatriots Lorane Papazian and Hayk Vardanian. “It is commendable that you have come to help and support your Armenian colleagues and our people. The President and government of Armenia appreciate very much everything you are doing now,” the President underscored. “After your heavy work to defeat the pandemic in France, coming to Armenia, where the epidemic is still in full force, is a really brave step, since you expose yourselves to risks to lend us a helping hand.”

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Armenia Jonathan Lacôte also thanked the doctors for visiting the friendly Armenia and noted that in this period of time they would be French ambassadors in the Armenian medical institutions.

President Sarkissian asked Ambassador Lacôte to convey his thanks to the President of France Emmanuel Macron, French government, and the friendly people of France for helping our country as this difficult time.

The French medical staff noted that they are ready to help their Armenian colleagues who in these days are doing incredible and special work.

At the conclusion of the meeting, President Sarkissian suggested that the French medical workers visit Armenia again after the pandemic is over, as well as to continue with the exchange of professional experience, establishment of working ties with their Armenian colleagues. Students too, can be involved in the experience sharing thus upholding and passing on to the next generations the traditions of brotherly and friendly relations.
