President Sarkissian had a phone conversation with the Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia Aram I

President Armen Sarkissian had today a phone conversation with the Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia Aram I.

The President inquired about the details of a powerful explosion which recently took place in Beirut and expressed his deep concern with the situation. President Sarkissian conveyed his anxiety with the conditions in the Armenian Bourj Hammoud district, which suffered from the blast, damages inflicted on the Main Cathedral, and condition of our Armenian-Lebanese compatriots.

The President of Armenia expressed his condolences to His Holiness on the occasion of human losses resulting from the explosion which include also our compatriots. He also wished a speedy recovery to our compatriots who have been injured by the blast.

President Armen Sarkissian conveyed his support to the Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia and in his person to the Armenian community of Lebanon and expressed readiness to help.

The President also expressed confidence that the Armenians of Lebanon, who went through many challenges and hardship and overcame them, together with the friendly people of Lebanon would be able to live through this severe calamity too.
