The newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden presented his credentials to President Sarkissian

Today, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden to the Republic of Armenia Patrick Svensson presented his credentials to President Armen Sarkissian.

“I am glad to be the first resident Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to Armenia,” Patrick Svensson said and conveyed to President Sarkissian greetings and good wishes from the King and government of Sweden. The newly appointed Ambassador said that he would direct his efforts toward the development and broadening of the Armenian-Swedish high level relations.

The President congratulated the Swedish Ambassador on assuming his diplomatic duties in our country, wished him fruitful work and expressed confidence that he would put his experience in strengthening bilateral relations in different areas.

Speaking of his working priorities, Ambassador Svensson stressed the importance of deepening the trade and economic cooperation between the two countries and noted that he anticipates to see more Swedish companies in Armenia.

The parties exchanged views on the prospects of cooperation in different areas. President Sarkissian stressed especially the importance of cooperation in the area of information technologies, noting that Sweden registered great results in that area and has good traditions. President Armen Sarkissian underscored the role of modern technologies for the future of Armenia. In that context, he spoke of the ATOM presidential initiative aimed at the development of science and technologies in our country and to a possible cooperation with Swedish companies in that framework.
