Kids from Artsakh were hosted at the Presidential Palace

A group of kids from Artsakh was hosted today at the Presidential Palace. As a result of the military aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan against the Republic of Artsakh they have been temporarily sheltered in Armenia.

The Presidential Administration, in cooperation with Yerevan’s H. Paronian Theater of Musical Comedy, prepared an event for the children from Artsakh. Artists of the theater presented at the Presidential Palace one of their beautiful performances, “Musicians of Bremen”.

The Chairman of the Union of Theater Workers of Armenia, Creative Director of the H. Paronian Theater of Musical Comedy Hakop Ghazantchian noted from the psychological point of view the importance of this event for the children in difficult situation. “These days, it is very important to support the kids of Artsakh psychologically because children are the most vulnerable part of the society. The nightmare they went through will stay in their memory for a long time,” Ghazantchian noted and underscored that these events will be of a continuous nature and added that doors of all Yerevan theaters are open for the children of Artsakh.

He informed that back in summer, during President Sarkissian’s meeting with the heads of theaters, Armen Sarkissian proposed that performances were held on the territory of the Presidential Palace considering restrictions on theaters and other cultural centers imposed by the coronavirus pandemic.

“When the President made that proposal, there was not war, it was peaceful. In this war time, we have decided to perform for the little ones from Artsakh at the Presidential Palace,” H. Ghazantchian said. He expressed hope that the artists were able to convey positive emotions to the little spectators.

After the performance the kids received gifts from the Presidential Administration.
