We have proved that we can be good partners. The newly-appointed Ambassador of China to Armenia presented his credentials to President Armen Sarkissian

Today, Fan Yong, the newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Armenia, presented his credentials to President Armen Sarkissian.

President Sarkissian congratulated the Ambassador on entering the diplomatic service in our country and wished him fruitful activity. He expressed confidence that the newly-appointed Ambassador will make a great contribution to expand a mutually beneficial partnership between our two friendly countries. "Our two countries have strong and deep relations, great opportunities, and potential for cooperation. We have proved that we can be good partners," said President Sarkissian.

Ambassador Fan Yong conveyed the warm greetings and best wishes of the President of China Xi Jinping to the President of Armenia. Noting that he felt great hospitality upon his arrival in Armenia, the newly-appointed Ambassador said that the two countries have long-standing traditions of friendship and that he expects to continue the development of strong friendly relations.

The President of the Republic and the newly-appointed Ambassador exchanged views on the agenda of collaboration between the two countries. They considered it essential to expand cooperation in the latest technologies, food security, and many other areas. President Sarkissian offered to consider the possibility of direct air communications from China to Armenia, and transit flights to the USA or Europe over the territory of our country. The significance of developing tourism was also stressed.

President Sarkissian also touched upon the consequences of the Azerbaijani-Turkish military aggression against Artsakh and the current situation in that context.
