Armenia and Italy built their relations on the solid basis of centuries. The Ambassador of Italy to Armenia presented his credentials to President Sarkissian

Today, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Italian Republic to the Republic of Armenia Alfonso di Riso presented his credentials to the President of the Republic Armen Sarkissian.

Congratulating the newly appointed Ambassador and wishing him success, the President said that he expects active joint work to expand and enrich the agenda of bilateral cooperation.

President Sarkissian noted that Armenia and Italy built their relations on the solid basis of centuries, and the two countries and peoples have similar systems of values.

Ambassador Alfonso di Riso conveyed the warm greetings and best wishes of the President of Italy Sergio Matarella to the President of Armenia and said he was ready to make maximal efforts to promote the traditionally friendly relations between the two countries in various fields.

Emphasizing the importance of President Armen Sarkissian’s planned state visit to Italy, postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Ambassador expressed confidence that it will be a great impetus and a new beginning for the expansion of bilateral cooperation.

The President of Armenia and the Ambassador of Italy touched upon the current level and development potential of the Armenian-Italian relations. In particular, they underscored the great opportunities for cooperation in commercial, economic, technological, scientific, educational and cultural spheres.
