Today, President Armen Sarkissian received Matteo Mecacci, Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), and Roberto Montella, Secretary General of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, who observed the early parliamentary elections in Armenia.
The guests informed President Sarkissian about the work done during the joint observation mission of the ODIHR, the OSCE PA, and the PACE, shared their observations on the electoral process, and also handed over a complete version of the prepared report.
President Sarkissian thanked the heads of the institutions, and in their person, the observation mission for the work done.
The sides exchanged views on the importance of strengthening democratic values and institutions in Armenia, as well as the cooperation between the OSCE ODIHR and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly with Armenia. In particular, they referred to the cooperation with the Presidential Institution.
The OSCE/ODIHR Director-General and the OSCE PA Secretary General noted that their institutions have cooperated with Armenia for years and are willing to continue supporting the capacity building of democratic institutions.
