Vaccination is the chief measure to fight the pandemic. President Armen Sarkissian met with WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus

President of the Republic Armen Sarkissian met with Director General of the World Health Organization Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus in Geneva.

The President of Armenia and the head of the WHO talked about the COVID-19 pandemic and the vaccination process to overcome it. They noted that vaccination is the chief measure and possibility to fight, prevent and treat COVID-19, as well as to restore normal life in a pandemic situation.

The President of the Republic and the WHO Director General expressed their concern that Armenia, still among the countries with a low vaccination rate, recently appeared in the red zone that implies possible restrictions for the country and its citizens. The way to overcome this condition is affordable, safe, and effective vaccines and the vaccination process. In this context, President Sarkissian also attached significance to the support of international partners.

President Sarkissian invited the WHO Director General to Armenia to meet with partners in the field of healthcare, also to participate in the "Third Armenian Summit of Minds" scheduled for October 23-24 this year.
