It is high time to modernize the Fund. The 30th session of the Board of Trustees of the Hayastan Fund was held, chaired by Armen Sarkissian, the President of the Republic and the President of the Board of Trustees of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund

Today, the 30th session of the Board of Trustees of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund was held, chaired by the President of the Republic, and the President of the Board of Trustees of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund Armen Sarkissian.

Opening the session, President Sarkissian noted that it is being held in a difficult period full of trials and challenges, like the war unleashed by Azerbaijan against Artsakh, military aggression against the sovereign territory of Armenia, as well as the consequences of the pandemic. "Unfortunately, we have losses, missing people and captives," said the President. - I suggest observing a minute of silence to commemorate our compatriots, who fell for the defense and security of our Homeland and died due to the pandemic, once again offering condolences to their families and relatives ...

We wish endurance to the families of the captives and the missing, continuing to make every effort to return the captives and find the missing ...

Naturally, the situation and the events had an impact on the activities of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund both in Armenia and Artsakh. The Fund's work has undergone unforeseen corrections due to the situation. You will be informed about that at today's session.

As the President of the Board of Trustees of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund, as the President of the Republic of Armenia, as a Fund donator, and as Armenian, I feel sorry for the rumours and repercussions of distrust. I expect that the results of the relevant studies will shed light on the situation and serve to building an atmosphere of trust. The Fund has had a long and difficult way, and it must do everything to correct the mistakes and shortcomings, and restore trust.

On the other hand, it is high time to modernize the Fund. It is necessary to adopt a new way of thinking, widely use new technologies, and find new organizational models.

I would like to sincerely thank all our compatriots, donators and benefactors. And I am glad that a lot of money has been raised in the recent telethon.

I wish all of us productive work and constructive discussions."

After the blessing of Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisyan, the Board of Trustees started discussing the issues on the agenda, first referring to the study-report on the targeted use of the money, collected within the framework of the national fundraising “We and Our Borders,” and donated to the Republic of Armenia by nine contracts in the period from October 8 to November 1, 2020.
