President Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Armenia

Today, President Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Kuwait to Armenia Nawaf Abdulaziz Al-Enezi.

Welcoming the guest, President Khachaturyan offered his warmest congratulations to the Ambassador and the friendly people of Kuwait on Independence and Liberation Days. “I am happy to receive and congratulate you right before your National holidays and to extend my congratulations to the friendly people of Kuwait on your behalf. In the meantime, I would like to seize this opportunity and ask you to convey my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to His Highness the Amir of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

Once again, I would like to highlight that we are friendly peoples and have special relations, which is also conditioned by the Armenian community in your country, which you treat in a special way. We are ready to continue and strengthen our friendship and create new opportunities.”

Expressing his gratitude for the reception, congratulations and wishes, the Ambassador conveyed the greetings of the Amir of the State of Kuwait to President Khachaturyan.

“I would also like to touch upon the Armenian community in Kuwait and note that the Armenian people are hardworking, respectable and trustworthy. The Armenian community has an excellent reputation and is one of the few communities to have little problems in Kuwait. We are ready to put our efforts into the development of relations between our countries in different spheres,” said the Ambassador of Kuwait to Armenia.

During the meeting, President Khachaturyan also touched upon Azerbaijan’s attempts to add a religious color to the conflict of Nagorno-Karabakh on different international platforms and noted that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is devoid of religious intolerance and falls within the logic of the fundamental human right to live and work freely on one’s own land. The President also pointed out that the people of Armenia have lived side by side with Arab brothers and other Muslim peoples for centuries.

Both sides highlighted the necessity to establish lasting and comprehensive peace in the region through peaceful negotiations.

During the meeting, the sides also touched upon issues regarding investments between the two countries and the promotion of cooperation in different fields of the economy. They also attached importance to the further deepening of cooperation in the fields of culture, tourism, and high technologies.
