President Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Ambassador, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Armenia Andrea Wiktorin

Today, the President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Ambassador, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Armenia Andrea Wiktorin who is completing her diplomatic mission in our country.

The President expressed gratitude to the Ambassador for further deepening and expanding the cooperation between Armenia and the European Union, as well as for the efforts made in promoting the implementation of programs aimed at the development of Armenia, especially the southern regions, as well as the ongoing reforms.

"I wish to thank you for the great work you have done during your four years in office. In fact, you have done immense work and your personal contribution here is great. Many projects that have commenced or have already become a reality are due to your initiatives. I am confident that the works you started will be continued since they have a great role and importance for the development of Armenia," President Khachaturyan noted.

Ambassador Andrea Wiktorin expressed her gratitude for the reception and kind words. "I believe that this all was possible through joint efforts. There was a good collaboration between the Armenian Government, stakeholders, civil society, the Delegation of the European Union, and our partners working there. I believe that together we managed to overcome a very difficult period."

During the meeting, the sides discussed a range of issues related to the Armenia-EU multilateral cooperation agenda. They also touched upon the implementation process and results of various ongoing and planned projects.

Both sides highlighted the significant role of the European Union in the establishment of democracy, democratic institutions, protection of human rights, and consistent reforms in Armenia.
