President Vahagn Khachaturyan received Commandant of National Defense College of India Sukriti Singh Dahiya

President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Commandant of the National Defense College of India, Lieutenant General Sukriti Singh Dahiya. The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Armenia Nilakshi Saha Sinha.

In the welcome remarks, the President noted:

"Our friendship has a centuries-old history, and after the independence of Armenia, we preserved that tradition and established diplomatic relations with India, and did our best to make our relations develop dynamically.

Last year, we marked the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries, and now we continue to seek new opportunities to develop further and expand our relations, and to this account, your visit is also of great importance."


Lieutenant General Sukriti Singh Dahiya expressed his gratitude for the reception and noted that he was glad to visit Armenia.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the directions and areas of further development of close cooperation between Armenia and India.

Both sides highlighted the importance of exercising the great potential of interaction in the fields of high technologies, healthcare, agriculture, and defense among others.

During the discussion, the sides also touched upon the possibility of implementing joint programs of experience exchange in the field of military education.

Ideas were exchanged on general regional developments in connection with which President Khachaturyan emphasized that Armenia is firm in its position to achieve sustainable and durable peace and is pursuing that path.
