President Vahagn Khachaturyan had a farewell meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Netherlands to Armenia Nicholas Schermers

President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan received Nicholas Schermers, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Netherlands to Armenia, in connection with completing the diplomatic mission.

The President welcomed the guest and noted, "I would like to personally thank you for the tremendous work you have done, as well as for the efforts you have made in strengthening Armenian-Dutch relations."

Expressing his gratitude for the reception, the Ambassador noted, "Mr. President, I am happy for this opportunity. My diplomatic mission is coming to an end, and I express my gratitude for our cooperation."

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues related to the further development of close cooperation between Armenia and the Netherlands. Practical cooperation between Armenia and the Netherlands on both bilateral and international platforms was highly valued by both sides.

During the discussion, the interlocutors touched upon the security and peace challenges in the South Caucasus region. In this context, the President underscored that Armenia is steadily progressing toward establishing good relations with its neighbors and sustainable peace in the region. In this regard, the efforts made by the Netherlands and the European Union are highly appreciated. Ideas were also exchanged on the role of the European Union's civilian observation mission in contributing to de-escalation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
