President Vahagn Khachaturyan receives Ambassador of Argentina to Armenia Mariano Vergara

President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan had a farewell meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Argentina to Armenia Mariano Vergara.

The President welcomed the Ambassador and thanked him for his work during the diplomatic mission and for strengthening Armenian-Argentine relations.

"I have no doubt that the Armenian-Argentine relations have a great potential for development and since 1992 they have experienced a consistent rise. During the past three years, we have sensed your personal compassion for the events taking place in Armenia in these difficult times. Be aware that in this situation, it is with the support of our friends and partners that we are able to make decisions to ensure the country's stability and development," the President noted.

Expressing gratitude for the reception, the Ambassador noted. "Following the three years of my work in Armenia, I am returning to Argentina, leaving many friends here, and rest assured that you have a new friend in Argentina in my person."

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues related to the further development of close relations between Armenia and Argentina. The interlocutors also attached great importance to the consistent development of high-level political dialogue and parliamentary diplomacy between the two countries.

During the conversation, the sides touched upon the protection of the rights of Armenians displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh and the work underway to address humanitarian issues. In this regard, Ambassador Vergara informed that Argentina is preparing to send humanitarian aid to Armenia in the near future to support the forcibly displaced.

Ideas were also exchanged on overall regional developments. In this context, Ambassador Mariano Vergara emphasized that Argentina fully supports Armenia's efforts to establish peace in the region and good relations with its neighbors.
