President Vahagn Khachaturyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Armenia Nilakshi Saha Sinha

President Vahagn Khachaturyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Armenia Nilakshi Saha Sinha on India’s National day.

Welcoming the Ambassador, the President congratulated her and the people of India on Republic Day and wished them constant development and prosperity, in response to which Ambassador Nilakshi Saha Sinha expressed gratitude for the reception and warm wishes.

During the meeting, issues on the agenda of bilateral interest to Armenia and India were discussed.

In this regard, President Vahagn Khachaturyan noted that the past 2023 was a significant year in terms of strengthening relations between the two countries, and expressed hope that in the near future the Armenian-Indian cooperation will be of continuous character and will expand even more.

In her speech, the Ambassador emphasized that India sees Armenia as a friendly and partner country, with which cooperation is developing dynamically.

During the conversation, the directions and perspectives of further development of Armenian-Indian multi-sectoral cooperation were touched upon. In particular, the need to fully realize the existing potential of cooperation in the economic, medical, high-tech and other spheres was emphasized.

Both sides highly appreciated the mutually beneficial cooperation in the security and military spheres and the efforts made in this direction.

The interlocutors stated with satisfaction the close cooperation between the two countries on international platforms. The sides noted the importance of mutual visits of high-level leaders of the countries as well, which will become a new incentive for further deepening of relations.

The sides exchanged views on common regional realities and prospects for establishing definite peace. In this context, the President of the Republic confirmed Armenia's position on achieving definite peace in the region and touched upon the concept of "Crossroads of Peace" put forward by Armenia as well.

During the conversation, the importance of democratic reforms and strengthening values, as well as the establishment of democratic institutions, was touched upon as well.
