The newly appointed Ambassador of Argentina to Armenia presented his credentials to President Vahagn Khachaturyan

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Argentina to Armenia Rafael Enrique González Alemán presented his credentials to President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan.

The President of the Republic congratulated the newly appointed Ambassador and wished him success in his diplomatic service.

"Once again, I want to emphasize that Armenian-Argentine relations are special for us. They are really friendly. In recent years, during difficult times for Armenia, we have felt the support of your country. We really needed an impartial approach, and Argentina's position and approach was exactly that.

I am confident that your appointment will certainly further deepen our relations," President Khachaturyan said.

The newly appointed Ambassador, extending thanks for the reception, noted: "It is a great honor for me to be here. I think I can be an important link that will confirm the deepening of ties between the Argentine Republic and the Republic of Armenia. There are many historical common features between the peoples of our countries. There is a large Armenian community in the Argentine Republic, and I can say that the community has played its unique role in achieving the progress of the Argentine Republic."

During the meeting, issues regarding the opportunities of further expansion of friendly and close cooperation between the two countries were discussed. A reference was made to the importance of initiating and implementing joint projects in the fields of education, culture and other fields. The sides exchanged views on taking measures on sharing best practices in the field of agriculture.

Over the course of the conversation, the sides referred to the regional realities and border demarcation works being carried out between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Both sides emphasized the importance of overcoming the challenges in the region through negotiations and based on the principles of neighborliness.
