The President of the Republic of Armenia once again congratulated on the Judiciary Day and highlighted the importance of the solemn ceremony organized recently in this regard. He emphasized the special significance of the messages delivered during the event and the role of the judiciary presented therein for the state.

Vahagn Khachaturyan stressed that justice and a judiciary that enjoys the trust of the people are of fundamental importance for the development and stability of the country. He noted that in democratic states, the judiciary plays a decisive role in shaping the perception of the country both within society and in the international community.

The Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council highlighted that the reforms implemented so far will have a continuous nature, and the goals of creating a more independent, trustworthy, and transparent judicial system will undoubtedly be achieved.

“We will surely bring all our steps and initiatives to fruition. We will spare no effort to enhance public trust. Although we are carrying out our work, the public is not fully aware of how the systems within the judiciary operate. Of course, it cannot be entirely open, but ensuring maximum possible transparency will create a higher level of public trust,” he stated.

During the meeting, views were exchanged on judicial system reforms, their progress and effectiveness, as well as on ways to increase the system’s transparency, independence, and public trust.
