President Vahagn Khachaturyan received the newly appointed Ambassador of New Zealand to Armenia

President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received the credentials of Mark Julian Trainor, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of New Zealand to Armenia (residence: Moscow).

Congratulating the ambassador on his appointment, President Khachaturyan expressed hope that his work would contribute to the development of cooperation and the deepening of ties between the two countries in various fields.

“Armenia highly values its friendly relations with New Zealand, which are based on shared values of democracy, human rights, and the rule of law,” the President stated.
In turn, Ambassador Trainor thanked the President for the warm welcome.

During the meeting, the sides discussed matters related to effective cooperation in various international platforms and multilateral formats, noting that mutual support will contribute to more effectively protecting the interests of both countries.

The conversation also touched upon the prospects for enhancing political dialogue. The importance of interagency communication was emphasized as a means of enriching the bilateral agenda.

The meeting included an exchange of views on practical steps to support the strengthening of ties between the business communities of both countries. In this context, the prospects for expanding cooperation in the trade and economic spheres, initiatives aimed at improving the business environment, and ways to identify new investment opportunities were discussed.

Special emphasis was placed on the importance of steps aimed at realizing the cooperative potential in the fields of high technologies, science, education, and culture.

The discussion also addressed the application of New Zealand’s best practices in various sectors of the economy, including the mining industry, in Armenia.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their mutual interest and readiness to develop friendly relations and expand mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.
