President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Co-President of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly, Sergey Lagodinsky.

During the meeting, the sides discussed bilateral agenda issues and addressed the current state and prospects for the development of the Republic of Armenia-Council of Europe relations.

The President of the Republic presented details about the democratic reforms being implemented in Armenia, particularly the measures undertaken in the police and judicial systems, anti-corruption efforts, and initiatives aimed at improving the efficiency of public administration.

The President emphasized Armenia’s stable position and commitment to the process and principles of establishing democratic institutions, noting that these reforms have strategic importance in the current phase of the country’s development.

In turn, Co-President of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly Sergey Lagodinsky highly appreciated Armenia’s democratic progress and the political will to continue taking concrete steps in this direction.

During the meeting, the sides also highlighted the effective cooperation within various platforms and formats of the European Parliament.

They also discussed the current challenges in the South Caucasus and the prospects for regional stability. President Khachaturyan expressed his gratitude for the continuous support provided to Armenia by the European Union.
