President Vahagn Khachaturyan met with Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia Tanja Fajon

President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, Tanja Fajon.

President Khachaturyan welcomed the visit of the high-level Slovenian representative to Armenia and emphasized that Armenia greatly values the friendly relations established with Slovenia, which are based on democratic values, mutual respect, and shared interests.

The President expressed gratitude for the humanitarian assistance provided to Armenia by Slovenia. He also highly appreciated the close cooperation developed with Slovenia within the structures and frameworks of the European Union, as well as Slovenia’s continuous support for various initiatives and programs.

During the meeting, President Khachaturyan highlighted Slovenia’s constructive position regarding Armenia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as its role in the processes of establishing peace and stability in the South Caucasus.

The interlocutors discussed the prospects for developing bilateral cooperation, emphasizing the need to enhance political dialogue and deepen collaboration in various fields - particularly in political, economic, high-tech, and scientific-educational spheres. Both sides noted the significant potential in these areas, the effective realization of which could contribute to the comprehensive development of both countries.

During the meeting, the sides also touched upon the regional situation and existing challenges. President Khachaturyan reaffirmed Armenia’s commitment to continue along the path of peace. He presented the “Crossroads of Peace” project proposed by the Government of Armenia, stressing its importance as a driver for long-term peace and sustainable development in the region.
