President Vahagn Khachaturyan participated in the YSU Alumni First Forum at Yerevan State University
President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan participated in the opening of the YSU Alumni First Forum held at Yerevan State University.
The President delivered an opening address and later gave a speech on the challenges and opportunities facing Armenia, emphasizing the role of education and science in this context.
President’s opening speech:
“It is with great pleasure that I welcome the launch of the first forum of Yerevan State University alumni, and I hope it will mark the beginning of a new tradition.
Yerevan State University, as the Mother University of Armenia, has long been and continues to be one of the main pillars of our scientific and intellectual potential. It is here that not only numerous professionals are shaped, but also active and responsible individuals who often lead the development of our state.
Today, our society and state face a number of deep-rooted challenges — in the realms of security, economy, culture, and moral-psychological matters. The long-term and fundamental solution to all these issues is possible only through a society that is educated, capable of critical thinking, committed to professional and civic responsibility, and values knowledge highly.
This is precisely where the university and its academic community play a key role — as a forge of science, knowledge, and progressive ideas.
In modern world, where technological advancement changes all spheres of human activity on a daily basis, science becomes one of the key guarantees of a state’s viability, competitiveness, and sovereignty.
This forum is a unique opportunity to re-evaluate our university connections, strengthen alumni unity, and create a shared educational-scientific platform capable of responding to the needs of the times and our country.
I am confident that this initiative will serve as a solid foundation for developing new pathways of scientific and educational cooperation, and for exploring new opportunities for experience exchange — not only on a national but also on an international level.
Dear participants of the forum,
I wish you productive work and meaningful discussions in the coming days — for the sake of science and for the development of our state.”
