The Newly Appointed Ambassador of Ireland to Armenia presented her credentials to President Vahagn Khachaturyan

The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ireland to the Republic of Armenia, Catherine Bannon, presented her credentials to President Vahagn Khachaturyan.

The President congratulated the ambassador on her appointment, emphasizing the need to deepen bilateral relations and enhance political dialogue between Armenia and Ireland. “We need to increase the frequency of mutual visits and discussions across various sectors, both in bilateral and multilateral formats,” noted President Khachaturyan.

Ambassador Bannon expressed her gratitude for the warm reception, adding that Ireland is also interested in expanding mutually beneficial cooperation and deepening dialogue with Armenia in various areas.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state of Armenian-Irish relations and their development prospects. They explored ways to enhance cooperation in areas of mutual interest, particularly in the fields of high technology, information technology, and telecommunications. It was noted that the cooperation potential in these sectors could be realized through new programs and initiatives that would promote innovation and dynamic economic development.

Both sides also stressed the importance of expanding tourism and cultural cooperation, viewing these fields as key pillars for bringing peoples closer together and strengthening mutual understanding.

The protection of democratic values and joint efforts aimed at strengthening democratic institutions were also highlighted as a solid foundation for bilateral cooperation

During the conversation, the importance of applying Ireland’s successful experience in the context of Armenia’s ongoing economic reforms was also emphasized.
