President Vahagn Khachaturyan hosted members of the “Young European Ambassadors” Initiative

President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Armenia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Vassilis Maragos, along with members of the “Young European Ambassadors” (YEA) initiative at the Presidential Palace.

Welcoming the ambassador and the young ambassadors, President Khachaturyan highly praised the active involvement of the initiative’s members, considering it a reflection of the close cooperation between Armenia and the European Union and an important driving force. He emphasized the special role of the YEA initiative as a bridge between European and Armenian youth, underlining the importance of such programs in promoting integration processes, education, and youth inclusion.

Ambassador Maragos expressed his gratitude for the reception and presented the current programs and initiatives of the YEA aimed at strengthening the EU-Armenia partnership.

During the meeting, YEA members, in a direct and engaging atmosphere of dialogue, presented their initiatives aimed at promoting European values in Armenia, raising public awareness about democracy, democratic institutions, the rule of law, and human rights. They also spoke about their work with young people living in the regions, highlighted the implementation of joint programs, and discussed steps taken toward studying the cultures of Armenia’s national minorities.

The young ambassadors emphasized the importance of developing intercultural dialogue and promoting mutual recognition as a foundation for peace, cooperation, and mutual understanding.

At the end of the meeting, the attendees addressed their pressing questions to the President, discussing current issues and possible solutions in the fields of education, Armenia-EU integration, the development of the public administration system, and other relevant topics.
