President Vahagn Khachaturyan participated in the International Conference “Uniting for Social Justice”

President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan participated in the international conference titled “Uniting for Social Justice” and delivered a welcoming address:

“I warmly welcome you to Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, within the framework of the international conference titled “Uniting for Social Justice”. I am pleased to note that this conference, now being held for the third time, has become an important platform for uniting the efforts of countries, institutions, and individuals to promote social justice and the concept of decent work.

In the context of the profound challenges of the 21st century, when the world is reassessing the role, efficiency, and inclusiveness of work, social justice remains a constantly urgent issue. However, for us, it is not just a theoretical or slogan-based matter, but a core component of public policy.

For the Republic of Armenia, social justice is the foundation of equal opportunities, human dignity, and public solidarity. We believe that no one should be excluded from the opportunity for decent work, and that every citizen should be able to fully participate in all areas of public life by realizing their abilities.

This conference allows us not only to value our achievements but also to address existing issues and outline new benchmarks. As a state, we recognize our responsibility to advance policies that promote employment, protect labor rights, and build an inclusive labor market. In recent years, systemic reforms have been implemented in the Republic of Armenia in this direction. Among them, the reforms of the Labor Code, the adoption of the Employment Strategy, as well as the introduction of new digital tools, aimed at making the labor and employment sector fairer, more flexible, and responsive to modern demands, are of particular importance.

Social justice cannot be achieved without inclusive cooperation. The state alone cannot realize it. Close collaboration is necessary with the private sector, civil society, and international partners. This is the model of joint effort that delivers real results.

I am pleased to note that today we are joined by partners from various countries, such as the UAE, India, France, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, and others, as well as senior representatives from the International Labour Organization. This level of participation itself testifies to the trust and shared commitment we uphold in spreading universal values in the field of labor.

Technological developments, demographic shifts, and global socio-economic inequalities demand new thinking. In this context, we are obliged to re-evaluate the social and civic significance of work, as a means of self-realization, self-sufficiency, and public contribution.

Today, we once again reaffirm our belief in the dignity of work. We remain committed to a vision rooted in justice through action, opportunity, and the realization of rights.

I would like to express my gratitude to all of you for supporting this conference with your presence, experience, and knowledge. I am confident that this meeting will further deepen our mutual understanding, enhance the effectiveness of our joint efforts, and promote the development of policies that bring real value to people’s lives.”
