President Vahagn Khachaturyan received Ambassador of Sweden to Armenia Patrik Svensson
President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sweden to Armenia, Patrik Svensson, on the occasion of the completion of his diplomatic mission.
Welcoming the guest, the President stated:
“I would like to express my gratitude to You and Your embassy for the work carried out over the past five years. Through your consistent and dedicated efforts, You have made a significant contribution to strengthening the relations between Armenia and Sweden.”
The Ambassador thanked the President for the reception and warm words, saying:
“This is a farewell meeting, and the past few weeks have been quite emotional and touching for me. It was a great honor and pleasure to live and work in Armenia during the past five years. Armenia is a wonderful country with exceptional people. I have been privileged to learn from, get to know, and collaborate with many remarkable Armenians.”
During the meeting, a number of bilateral agenda issues related to the development of Armenia-Sweden relations were discussed, highlighting the importance of enhancing political dialogue and deepening cooperation in various fields.
The President highly appreciated Sweden’s longstanding support for reforms aimed at strengthening democracy, especially noting the value of applying Swedish experience in the areas of transparent governance, the rule of law, the empowerment of civil society, and the protection of human rights.
The conversation also touched on opportunities to expand bilateral cooperation in the political, economic, and high-tech sectors. It was noted that there is significant untapped potential in the development of economic ties between the two countries particularly through investment programs, the exchange of innovative technologies, and joint initiatives in the digital sector.
