President Vahagn Khachaturyan received Iran’s Ambassador to Armenia, Mehdi Sobhani
President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia, Mehdi Sobhani, who is completing his diplomatic mission.
The President welcomed the Ambassador and expressed gratitude for his consistent efforts during his tenure, which contributed to raising the level of relations between Armenia and Iran.
“During Your tenure You have achieved significant successes,” the President said, expressing hope for the further deepening of cooperation between the two countries.
Thanking the President for the reception, the Ambassador conveyed his appreciation for the support and effective cooperation extended to him by the President of the Republic and the Armenian leadership throughout his diplomatic mission.
During the meeting, the sides discussed agenda issues of multifaceted cooperation between the two countries. They positively noted the effective interaction between Armenia and Iran in the development of transport and energy infrastructure, which provides a strong basis for expanding cooperation.
The interlocutors also exchanged views on regional developments, within which the Ambassador emphasized that Iran supports Armenia’s efforts aimed at establishing peace, based on the fundamental principles of territorial integrity and sovereignty. The President expressed gratitude for the clear and consistent positions repeatedly voiced by the Iranian side.
The meeting also touched upon economic cooperation, trade turnover, and the continuous growth of tourism flows, highlighting the significant potential that exists in these areas.
