President of the RepublicVahagn Khachaturyan took part in a roundtable discussion titled “The Overview of Armenia’s Transport Logistics” held at the Armenian State University of Economics.

The event was attended by Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia Armen Grigoryan, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Davit Khudatyan, Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan, Chair of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Tsovinar Vardanyan, as well as representatives of various Armenian organizations.

In his opening remarks, the President addressed the “Crossroads of Peace” initiative and the situation that emerged following the Washington agreements of August 8.

“I believe the topic of today’s discussion is among the most talked-about ones — the “Crossroads of Peace” initiative proposed by the Republic of Armenia. Within this framework, we need in-depth analyses to understand how we can turn the concept of the initiative into reality. The idea was presented two years ago not only to the Armenian public but also to the international community. Initially, there was a degree of skepticism about what it really meant and whether it could be realized. There was no shortage of criticism, yet time has shown that this concept can become an important incentive for regional cooperation and economic interconnectivity,” the President noted, expressing hope that the discussion would yield concrete and practical proposals.

President Khachaturyan emphasized that, in the current new reality, it is essential to combine the potential of various state and academic institutions in order to provide assessments adequate to the situation in and around Armenia and to clearly outline the directions for development.
