Malaysia’s Ambassador to Armenia Dato' Cheong Loon Lai presented his credentials to President Vahagn Khachaturyan
Malaysia’s Ambassador to the Republic of Armenia, Dato' Cheong Loon Lai, presented his credentials to President Vahagn Khachaturyan.
The President congratulated the Ambassador, noting that relations between Armenia and Malaysia are friendly and have great potential for development. “We attach importance to our relations with Malaysia. I hope that with Your appointment, our bilateral cooperation will become even more active,” President Khachaturyan stated.
Ambassador Dato' Cheong Loon Lai expressed gratitude for the reception, emphasizing: “Thank you, Mr. President, for the warm welcome and this important opportunity. We deeply appreciate the hospitality extended to us in Your country.”
During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state of relations between the two countries and the prospects for their development.
They reviewed ways to deepen cooperation in areas of mutual interest, particularly high technologies, information technologies, and other fields.
The sides also highlighted the importance of expanding tourism and cultural exchanges, considering these areas as pillars for bringing the peoples closer and strengthening mutual understanding.
Attention was drawn to the need to intensify high-level political contacts between the two countries, which would contribute to enhanced cooperation in various directions.
The meeting also included an exchange of views regarding the organization of the UN Biodiversity Conference, COP-17, to be held in Armenia in 2026.
The conversation underscored the importance of promoting cooperation on international platforms and in various formats.
