Ambassador of Iran to Armenia, Khalil Shirgholami, presented his Credentials to President Vahagn Khachaturyan
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia, Khalil Shirgholami, presented his credentials to President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan.
The President congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and expressed hope that his activities would contribute to the further strengthening and development of relations between the two countries.
“I would like once again to emphasize the friendly relations established between the Republic of Armenia and the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as to place special emphasis on the intensification and expansion of our cooperation in recent years,” the President stated.
In turn, the newly appointed Ambassador thanked the President for the warm reception. He noted that since his arrival in Armenia, he has felt a positive attitude, which is due to the warm and friendly relations formed between the two peoples. The Ambassador added that the President’s remarks and the positive approach presented regarding bilateral relations are highly encouraging and inspire confidence in the further development of cooperation.
During the meeting, issues related to the multifaceted cooperation between Armenia and Iran were discussed, as well as opportunities and prospects for the continued development of interaction. The sides also addressed the implementation of projects of regional significance and the need to fully utilize existing potential.
The interlocutors also exchanged views on regional realities and developments. The newly appointed Ambassador emphasized that Iran supports the process of establishing sustainable peace and security in the region, as well as Armenia’s proposed “Crossroads of Peace” initiative.
The meeting also covered opportunities to deepen cooperation between Armenia and Iran in the fields of high technologies, infrastructure, and energy, as well as prospects for the implementation of joint projects.
The sides reaffirmed their mutual interest in the consistent development of bilateral relations and in shaping new areas of cooperation.
