President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Ambassador of the USA to Armenia, Kristina Kvien

President Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of Armenia, Kristina Kvien, on the occasion of the completion of her diplomatic mission.

Welcoming the Ambassador, the President expressed his gratitude to Ambassador Kvien for her work and cooperation, emphasizing the significance of the efforts carried out over the past three years.

“I would like to express my appreciation for the work You have done. You have been with us during a very difficult period for our state, shared our challenges with us, and in this regard I sincerely thank You. Of course, the results achieved are also very visible, especially over the past two years,” President Khachaturyan stated.

The President placed special emphasis on the recent stage of development of Armenian-American relations, highlighting the formation of a strategic partnership.

“The Strategic Partnership Charter signed on January 14 last year seemed improbable to many, and the processes developed much faster than one could have imagined. We already have the August 8 document, and now also the January 13 document,” the President said, adding that the path chosen toward achieving peace in the region with the support of the United States is already clearly visible.

President Khachaturyan expressed hope that peace will be lasting and that the presence and support of the United States will also contribute to the advancement of Armenia’s economic life.

In turn, Ambassador Kristina Kvien thanked the President for the warm reception and cooperation, noting that significant progress has been made thanks to the consistent efforts of the President and the Government.

“I believe that Armenia currently has a very good opportunity to move forward with all the agreements reached on August 8, to strengthen and place on solid foundations issues related to its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and hopefully also to secure a peaceful future for the region.”

Concluding her remarks, Ambassador Kvien noted that upon completing her diplomatic mission, she will continue to remain a friend of Armenia.

President Vahagn Khachaturyan wished Ambassador Kristina Kvien success in her future endeavors.

At the conclusion of the meeting, President Khachaturyan awarded Kristina Kvien the Order of Friendship for her significant contribution to deepening cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and the United States of America, as well as to strengthening and developing Armenian-American friendly relations.
