President Vahagn Khachaturyan received the UNICEF Representative in Armenia, Christine Weigand

President Vahagn Khachaturyan held a farewell meeting with Christine Weigand, UNICEF Representative in Armenia, on the occasion of the completion of her mission.

The President expressed his gratitude to Christine Weigand for the large-scale and consistent work carried out during her tenure in Armenia, as well as for the close and effective cooperation established with the state institutions of the Republic of Armenia.

Vahagn Khachaturyan highly appreciated UNICEF’s contribution, particularly to programs implemented in the fields of children’s rights protection, education, and social development.

In turn, Christine Weigand thanked the President for the reception, the warm words, and the cooperation shown over the years, noting that she had grown fond of Armenia and was leaving the country with difficulty.

During the meeting, the importance of ensuring the continuity and deepening of cooperation with UNICEF was emphasized. The sides highlighted the significance of implementing joint educational, social, and other programs, as well as the more active application of the organization’s best practices in Armenia for the benefit of children and vulnerable groups.

The sides reaffirmed their mutual readiness to continue effective cooperation and to expand the scope of joint initiatives.
