The President of the Republic received the Ambassador of India to Armenia
President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Armenia, Nilakshi Saha Sinha, on the occasion of India’s National Holiday — Republic Day.
The President congratulated the Ambassador and the friendly people of India on the national holiday, wishing them peace, sustainable development, and prosperity.
“Our countries and peoples share friendly relations with deep historical and civilizational roots, and I am confident that these relations will continue and further strengthen and expand,” the President stated.
Ambassador Nilakshi thanked the President for the reception and good wishes.
During the meeting, the current state of the multifaceted relations between the two countries and prospects for their development were discussed. The sides emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation, particularly in the fields of high technologies, education, defense, as well as other strategically important sectors.
Special attention was given to the need to intensify trade and economic ties between Armenia and India. In this context, the sides expressed readiness to promote the continued development of contacts between the business communities of the two countries through joint business forums and other formats of cooperation.
The interlocutors highlighted the necessity of further strengthening and deepening bilateral relations for the benefit of the two friendly peoples. Reference was also made to the COP-17 conference planned to be held in Armenia in the autumn, emphasizing its significance and potential cooperation in the fields of environmental protection, artificial intelligence, and digital technologies.
During the meeting, Armenia–India cooperation on international platforms was positively assessed, noting its effectiveness and the importance of mutual support.
