President Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Credentials of the First Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine to Armenia

The first Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine to Armenia, Issa Kassissieh presented his credentials to President Vahagn Khachaturyan.

The President congratulated the newly appointed Ambassador on assuming his post and wished him success in his diplomatic mission.

“You are the first ambassador, and this is yet another historic milestone. I am confident that in this capacity our relations will gain new momentum, and together we will seek the paths and opportunities that will enable us to help overcome the current situation. This refers both to the establishment of peace in Palestine and, of course, to the achievement of lasting peace in Armenia and our region,” the President stated.

The newly appointed Ambassador expressed his gratitude for the reception and the good wishes. “I will make every effort to strengthen bilateral relations between Armenia and Palestine in all areas, especially in culture, education, and healthcare. I hope that in the near future everything will develop positively for Armenia and Palestine,” he noted.

During the meeting, the sides discussed opportunities to develop and promote cooperation between the two countries, emphasizing the importance of activating political dialogue and expanding cooperation in various fields. They also touched upon the ways for exchanging experience in the humanitarian sphere. In this context, the President of the Republic stressed Armenia’s readiness to provide the necessary support, taking into account the experience accumulated and capacities developed by Armenia in humanitarian matters.

The sides also addressed regional developments, underscoring the importance of being guided by the principles of peace, stability, and good-neighborliness.
