President Vahagn Khachaturyan met with Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova

President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan hosted Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova at the Presidential Residence.

The President of the Republic of North Macedonia is in Armenia on a working visit to participate in the European Political Community Summit.

Welcoming his counterpart, President Vahagn Khachaturyan expressed gratitude for the visit to Armenia and participation in the European Political Community Summit in Yerevan.

“It is a great honor for us to host the participants of the next Summit of the European Political Community in Yerevan. I am also pleased about the opportunity for our meeting and hope that Your visit to our country will contribute to the development of friendship and cooperation between Armenia and North Macedonia,” the President noted.

Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova thanked for the warm reception and hospitality, noting that she is impressed by Armenia and emphasizing that there is significant potential for cooperation between North Macedonia and Armenia, the full realization of which can become an important platform for expanding bilateral friendship and cooperation.

During the meeting, the sides thoroughly discussed a number of issues related to the agenda of bilateral and multilateral cooperation. The need to deepen political dialogue and intensify mutual visits at various levels was emphasized, with the aim of making cooperation mechanisms more systematic and effective.

The sides highlighted the importance of the possible participation of a high-level delegation from North Macedonia in the COP17 Leaders’ Summit, emphasizing the role of such formats in addressing global challenges.

Reference was also made to Armenia–European Union partnership, stressing the importance of the continuous development and institutional deepening of relations with the European Union. In this context, the experience of North Macedonia as an EU candidate country was discussed, which may be useful for Armenia in the context of its European integration processes.

The interlocutors emphasized the importance of promoting direct contacts between citizens, considering the opportunities of visa liberalization, which would contribute to mutual understanding, tourism, and business ties.

The meeting also underscored the need to intensify interparliamentary cooperation as an important factor in strengthening bilateral relations.

The sides also emphasized expanding cooperation in the fields of information technology and education, noting that this direction could become a new and promising platform for the development of bilateral partnership.
