President Vahagn Khachaturyan received European Investment Bank Vice-President Karl Nehammer
The President of the Republic, Vahagn Khachaturyan, received the Vice-President of the European Investment Bank (EIB), Karl Nehammer.
The President welcomed the guest and highly appreciated the long-standing and effective cooperation between Armenia and the European Investment Bank, emphasizing the Bank’s important role in advancing the country’s economic modernization and reform agenda. Vahagn Khachaturyan noted that the EIB continues to be one of Armenia’s reliable partners, contributing to the implementation of infrastructure and development programs.
For his part, Karl Nehammer expressed gratitude for the reception and reaffirmed the EIB’s readiness to continue supporting Armenia’s key development priorities, highlighting the importance of further deepening bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the progress of a number of ongoing and planned joint projects, including in the fields of water supply, road construction, energy, and community infrastructure development.
The importance of potential cooperation within the framework of the “Crossroads of Peace” initiative for the development of regional connectivity was emphasized, as well as the advancement of road infrastructure improvement programs.
The interlocutors also addressed major projects in the energy sector, underlining their strategic importance for Armenia’s energy security and regional integration. In this context, the continued involvement of international financial partners and the effective implementation of projects were considered essential.
The meeting also touched upon development initiatives in the Syunik region, as well as infrastructure modernization programs in the capital, Yerevan, including urban transport and energy efficiency. The sides stressed the importance of the timely and effective implementation of these projects in improving the quality of life of citizens.
At the end of the meeting, the sides reaffirmed their readiness to continue effective cooperation aimed at Armenia’s sustainable development, strengthening economic resilience, and expanding regional connectivity.
