President Vahagn Khachaturyan received Secretary General of the International Organisation of La Francophonie Louise Mushikiwabo

President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received Louise Mushikiwabo, Secretary General of the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF), who is in Armenia to participate in the Leaders’ Summit to be held ahead of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17).

Welcoming his guest, the President of the Republic thanked her for the visit and highly appreciated the support demonstrated by the OIF and personally by its Secretary General during a challenging period for Armenia. Vahagn Khachaturyan noted that cooperation between Armenia and the OIF had intensified significantly.

Louise Mushikiwabo expressed her gratitude for the warm reception.
During the meeting, the President of the Republic also praised the reforms initiated by the Secretary General, which have improved the Organisation’s performance and enhanced its standing on the international stage.

The interlocutors discussed avenues and opportunities for further expanding Armenia’s cooperation with the Organisation, as well as organisational matters related to the Francophone Games, which will be held in Armenia in 2027.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the President of the Republic awarded Louise Mushikiwabo the Order of Honour in recognition of her significant contribution to strengthening cooperation with Armenia within the framework of the International Organisation of La Francophonie and promoting humanitarian values.
