Message of the President of the Republic on the Victory and Peace Day – May 9

Dear compatriots,

Today we celebrate May 9 – Victory and Peace Day.

On this day, with deep respect and gratitude, we bow to the memory of those who gave their lives in the just struggle against fascism. They fought not only for their own country but also for the freedom and dignified future of all humanity.

The Armenian people made an invaluable contribution to that historic victory. Hundreds of thousands of Armenians fought on various fronts as part of the armies of the Soviet Union and the allies, engaging in relentless combat, showing selflessness and heroism.

It was through their blood and sweat that the victory was forged-a victory through which humanity overcame the devastating ordeal of fascism with great effort.

Today, as the world once again faces threats to peace, the lessons of the Great Victory are more relevant than ever. Those tragic pages of history remind us that peace is a value that must be constantly preserved, defended, and strengthened.

May the heroism and memory of our veterans live forever, becoming a guiding light and source of inspiration for us all.

May the peaceful sky above our people never be darkened.
