Message of the President of the Republic on the Victory and Peace Day- May 9

Dear compatriots,

May 9 is one of the most significant days in our history and collective memory, uniting the ideas of victory, remembrance, and peace.

On this day, we pay tribute to all those who selflessly fought during World War II to liberate humanity from fascism. Their courage and resilience became the foundation of a victory that changed the course of history.

The Armenian people participated in that struggle with honor. Tens of thousands of Armenians fought on various fronts, endured heavy losses, yet continued the struggle with unwavering determination for the sake of a peaceful and secure world. The heroism of Armenian soldiers and commanders constitutes an important chapter in the history of the global victory.

May 9 is also an occasion to reconsider the value of peace. Today, the world continues to face numerous challenges, and more than ever it is necessary to preserve solidarity among peoples, mutual respect, and the principles of peaceful coexistence.

It is our duty to value the lessons of the past and to contribute to building a peaceful, secure, and dignified future every day.

We bow in remembrance and gratitude to all veterans and to the memory of the victims of war.

May peace and prosperity always accompany our people and our homeland.
