President received the participants of the session of the Council of the Heads of the CIS security agencies and special services

 

President Serzh Sargsyan received today heads of the delegations participating in the 35th session of the Council of the Heads of the CIS security agencies and special services.

The President of Armenia stressed the important activities of the Council of the Heads of the CIS security agencies and special services which is convening in Armenia for the fourth time, considering the urgency and priority of upholding security at the national, regional, and international levels. He stressed the importance of deepening cooperation in the framework of the CIS in that area.

Serzh Sargsyan noted that issues related to the fight against any threat to security have always been in the center of the states’ attention and with this regard works of relevant structures are always current and extremely important. According to the President, cooperation of the countries in this as well as other areas considerably promotes deepening of the interstate relations and strengthens friendship between the nations.

At the President’s request, the guests spoke about issues discussed at their meeting in Tsakhkadzor and adopted decisions.

The Chairman of the Council, Director of RF Federal Security Service Alexander Bortnikov assessed the works of the Council of the Heads of the CIS security agencies and special services in Tsakhkadzor as well as all previous meetings as efficient and noted that cooperation of the member states in the framework of the Council aimed at countering threats existing in the contemporary world such as terrorism, drug trafficking, organized crime and many other dangerous activities is developing dynamically. He also stressed the importance of experience exchange between the countries and works related to the synchronization of the legislations of the member states.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the President wished the Council members success in their future works.
