On the occasion of the plane crash in the Madrid airport, President Serzh Sargsyan sent a letter of condolences to the King of Spain, Juan Carlos I.
The letter states:
“I learned with profound pain the news of the plane crash in the airport of Madrid which claimed numerous lives.
In this time of grief on behalf of the people of Armenia and my own behalf I express our deepest sympathies to you, families of the victims and friendly people of Spain.”
