On the occasion of Armenia’s 20th Anniversary of Independence, President Sargsyan has been receiving numerous congratulatory messages

On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Armenia’s independence, President Serzh Sargsyan has been receiving congratulations from the leaders of other states, reputable international organizations, and individuals.

In his message addressed to President Sargsyan, the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev states:

“Dear Mr. President,

I cordially congratulate you and the friendly people of the Republic of Armenia on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of independence.

In these years, your Republic has achieved visible success in the economic and social areas and built up its reputation on the international arena. I note with satisfaction that the basis of the historically deep and traditionally good-neighborly relations between Armenia and Russia has been further reinforced.

Today we successfully develop multifaceted relations in the spirit of strong partnership. Through our joint efforts we open new perspective directions for cooperation in trade, economic, investment, humanitarian and other areas. I hope that you upcoming visit to Russia in October will give a strong impetus to further dev
elopment of our many-sided relations.
I am confident that efficient political dialogue, coordinated work in the framework of integration structures in the realm of the CIS are in the long-term interest of the people of Armenia and Russia and play important role for the dynamic development of the entire complex of bilateral relations, as well as strengthening of the stability and security in Transcaucasus.”

The congratulatory message of President Barack Obama states:

“Dear Mr. President,

On behalf of the people of the United States, I congratulate you and the people of Armenia on your National Day on September 21.

As you celebrate this twentieth anniversary, we pay tribute to the historic bonds between our two countries that began long before Armenia achieved its independence. As a nation that has been enriched by the contributions of generations of Americans of Armenian ancestry, the United States is proud to walk along the path with you toward further democratization, prosperity and peace.

The partnership between the United States and Armenia is strong and the friendship between our peoples is enduring. Please accept my best wishes as you celebrate your national day.”
