On the occasion of the national holiday, President Serzh Sargsyan sent a congratulatory message to the President of the French Republic François Hollande.

The message states:

“Honorable Mr. President,

I cordially congratulate and send my heartfelt wishes to You and the friendly people of France on the occasion of the national holiday – July 14.

I am confident that through our joint efforts the existing high-level political dialogue between our two countries, which is anchored in the centuries-long friendship of the Armenian and French peoples, as well as close cooperation in the bilateral format, in the framework of European organizations and on the international arena and strong economic ties in different areas, interparliamentary and efficient decentralized cooperation will become even stronger and will receive a new impetus for the benefit of further deepening of the friendship between our two nations.

Taking this opportunity, I once again thank you for the important mission carried out by France as an OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair country for the peaceful resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict and establishment in the South Caucasus region of peace, stability, security and cooperation.

Armenia highly values efforts of the leaders of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair countries aimed at the peaceful solution of the conflict which was once again reiterated by the Joint Declaration of the Presidents of France, United States and the Russian Federation on June 19, in Los Cabos.

Mr. President,

We greatly value France’s continuous assistance to Armenia’s further rapprochement with the European Union, as well as its efforts aimed at the expansion and deepening of our cooperation.

I once again congratulate and wish You recurring success, and I wish happiness and prosperity to the friendly people of France.”
