Working visit of the President Vahagn Khachaturyan to Syunik

President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan is on a three-day working visit to Syunik region.

At the start of the visit, a consultation was held under the President’s leadership, with the participation of Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures David Khudatyan, Syunik Governor Robert Ghukasyan, representatives of law enforcement agencies, and heads of communities.

During the consultation, the Governor of Syunik reported on the progress of sectoral programs being implemented in the region, the recorded achievements, existing issues, and the measures being taken to overcome them. Minister David Khudatyan presented the programs and projects initiated and currently underway in Syunik by the Government of Armenia.

The President inquired about the general situation in the region, including the social and psychological atmosphere, on which representatives of law enforcement agencies and community heads delivered reports.

At the end of the consultation, President Khachaturyan answered questions raised by regional authorities, addressing the internal and external policy priorities of the country.

During his visit to Syunik, President Vahagn Khachaturyan, accompanied by Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures David Khudatyan, Syunik Governor Robert Ghukasyan, and Kapan Mayor Gevorg Parsyan, toured Kapan.

The Mayor presented the President with updates on the ongoing improvement works of the town’s urban infrastructure, as well as details about the construction progress of the new Kapan municipal administrative building.

At the end of the tour, the President visited the newly opened House-Museum of artist Hrant Danielyan and became acquainted with the artist’s creative heritage.

Within the framework of his visit to Syunik region, President Vahagn Khachaturyan, accompanied by Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures David Khudatyan and Governor Robert Ghukasyan, visited Kapan Airport to familiarize himself with its operations, technical equipment, and facilities.

During his visit to Syunik region, President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan visited a military unit, where he familiarized himself with the living conditions of the servicemen and the overall state of the unit.

Within the framework of the visit, the President awarded several servicemen who had demonstrated high readiness during their service.

Within the framework of his visit to Syunik region, President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan visited the communities of Chakaten and Nerkin Hand.

In a direct and informal setting, the President spoke with the residents, inquired about the condition of the villages, familiarized himself with the existing problems, and responded to the questions raised.

The President also expressed interest in the progress of ongoing and planned government programs being implemented in the border communities in recent times.

Within the framework of his visit to Syunik region, President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan visited the tunnel being constructed as part of the North-South Road Project, where he observed the ongoing construction work on site.

Within the framework of his visit to Syunik region, President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan visited the Meghri border checkpoint located on the Armenia-Iran border. He got acquainted with the operations of the customs checkpoint on site, as well as the ongoing construction works.

Within the framework of his visit to Syunik, President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan visited Nrnadzor community, spoke with the residents, and inquired about the community’s issues.

Within the framework of his visit to Syunik region, President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan visited Goris. He was accompanied by Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures David Khudatyan, Syunik Governor Robert Ghukasyan, and Goris Mayor Arush Arushanyan.

During the visit, the President toured the town, familiarized himself with the urban improvement works already carried out, as well as with the development programs planned with the support of the Government of Armenia.

During his regional visit to Syunik, President Vahagn Khachaturyan visited the settlements of Nerkin Khndzoresk, Tegh and Kornidzor, spoke with residents, inquired about programs implemented to address various issues in recent times, and responded to questions raised.

The President of the Republic paid tribute to the memory of those who died in the Karabakh wars and laid flowers at the memorials in Tegh and Kornidzor.

Within the framework of his visit to Syunik region, President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan visited the substation of the Iran-Armenia 400 kV overhead power transmission line located near the settlement of Noravan.

On site, the President observed the work carried out and inquired about the approximate timeline for the substation’s commissioning and the overall scope of the project.
