Rita Sargsyan attended the opening of a new building of the My Path Training and Rehabilitation Center

RA First Lady Rita Sargsyan, President of the Autism National Foundation, today attended the opening of a new building of the My Path Training and Rehabilitation Center in Yerevan which has been built for children with autism.

April 2 marks World Autism Awareness Day. Every year, various awareness events are organized all over the world and in Armenia on the occasion of that day. The mission of the day is to stress the need to improve the lives of adults and children with autism, by helping them to live a full and meaningful life.

The opening of the new building of the My Path Training and Rehabilitation Center this year is devoted to April 2. The My Path diurnal social rehabilitation center applies a therapy adopted by leading countries for the treatment of children with autism. The main goal of the program is to support people with autism and other impairments and their families, create necessary conditions for education and employment and foster autistic peoples’ professional development and their social adaptation.

At the event, the Armenian General Benevolent Union awarded RA First Lady Rita Sargsyan the Gold Medal of the Union for carrying out fruitful activities in the area of healthcare, as well as for demonstrating care towards children needing special attention and for the patronage aimed at improving their living conditions.
