President Serzh Sargsyan leaving for Bishkek to participate at the summits CIS and EurAsEC

On October 9, President Serzh Sargsyan is leaving for Bishkek to participate at the summit of the Council of the CIS Heads of State and the session of the intergovernmental council of the EurAsEC.

The delegation headed by the President of Armenia comprises the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Edward Nalbandian, Permanent Representative of Armenia to the CIS structures, Ambassador of Armenia to Belarus Oleg Esayan, and other officials.

The summit of the CIS Council will open with meeting of the Heads of State in a restricted format which will be followed by the meeting in the extended format.

The leaders of the CIS will discuss the strategy for the CIS economic development till 2020, cooperation in the area of energy for 2009, drafts of the documents for the cooperation in critical areas, as well as the issues pertaining to the future development of the CIS, and a wide range of issues regarding cooperation among the CIS member states.

At the capital of Kyrgyzstan, the President of Armenia will also participate at the session of the intergovernmental council of the EurAsEC in which Armenia has the observer’s status.
