Today, President Serzh Sargsyan received the Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Nikolay Bordjuzha.

Currently, Armenia is presiding over the Organization and the Chairman of the CSTO Council Serzh Sargsyan discussed with Nikolay Bordjuzha issues related to the preparations for the next summit and its agenda.

The President of Armenia stressed the importance of a constant improvement of the Organization’s activities and noted that it would allow to withstand the current challenges more efficiently. According to Serzh Sargsyan, the last December unofficial meeting of the CSTO Heads of State in Kazakhstan was dedicated to that particular issue.

Noting, that the military-political cooperation of the CSTO member states was the cornerstone of the Organization’s activities, Serzh Sargsyan said that Armenia would continue its efforts aimed at the coordination of joint activities, and a more efficient utilization of the potential of such cooperation.

The two sides spoke also about the problems facing the Organization and the avenues to solve them.
