President Serzh Sargsyan visited the Embassy of the United States in Yerevan

On the occasion of US national holiday – Independence Day – President Serzh Sargsyan visited today the Embassy of the United States of America in our country and congratulated the senior staff with the 233rd Anniversary of America’s independence.

In his congratulatory remarks the President of Armenia said. “I wish the United States further empowerment and I wish prosperity to its people. We are truly interested in developing further our relations with the US. We view America not only as a powerful state, not only as Armenia’s largest donor of humanitarian assistance but also as a state which lent support to our people in the direst times of our history, opened itself for a great number of our people, provided with the opportunity to advance and bring their contribution to the empowerment of the United States preserving at the same time their national identity.”

During the ensuing private meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States Marie Yovanovitch, the two sides underscored their mutual desire and readiness to further advance the Armenian-American relations in different areas. Ambassador Yovanovitch presented to the President of Armenia her impressions of the recently held meetings with the representatives of the Armenian-American community.

President Sargsyan and Ambassador Yovanovitch underlined that the presence of the unique and powerful Armenian-American community, vigorous activities of different Armenian-American organizations serve as a bridge between Armenia and the US. During the meeting the two sides spoke also about the Armenian-Turkish political dialogue.
