President Serzh Sargsyan received Anwar Mohammed Gargash, UAE State Minister for Foreign Affairs

Today, President Serzh Sargsyan received the delegation headed by Anwar Mohammed Gargash, the United Arab Emirates State Minister for Foreign Affairs.

Welcoming the high guest, President Sargsyan expressed confidence that his visit as well as other recently held high level visits would have a positive impact on the strengthening of relations between Armenia and United Arab Emirates. Noting with satisfaction growing cooperation between the two countries, Serzh Sargsyan said that Armenia is interested in further promoting and deepening her relations with the Gulf states. The President of Armenia praised UAE’s balanced approach toward sensitive regional issues.

The UAE State Minister for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash expressed gratitude for warm reception and conveyed to President Sargsyan heartfelt greetings and wishes from the President and Vice President of the United Arab Emirates. Stressing his country’s interest in deepening cooperation with friendly Armenia in economic and political areas, Anwar Gargash assessed his visit to Armenia and discussions held in Yerevan as successful.

Recalling, that today marks anniversary of the devastating earthquake of 1988, the State Minister said that they wouldn’t forget that tragic day and conveyed sympathies of his people to the people of Armenia.

During the ensuing conversation the two parties discussed issues related to cooperation in different areas, works of the joint intergovernmental commission, and interaction in international organizations.
