President Serzh Sargsyan will conduct an official visit to Syria
At the invitation of the President of the Syrian Arab Republic Bashar Al-Assad, the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan and Mrs. Rita Sargsyan will conduct an official visit to Syria on March 22-24.
The delegation headed by the President of Armenia comprises the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Diaspora Affairs, Culture, Agriculture, and other officials.
After the official ceremony of welcoming the President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan and Bashar Al-Assad will hold a private meeting, followed by the meeting in the extended format with the participation of the official delegations. The Presidents of Armenia and Syria will give a joint press conference.
The President of Syria Bashar Al-Assad and Mrs. Asma Al-Assad will give an official dinner in honor of the President of Armenia and Mrs. Rita Sargsyan.
In the framework of the visit, the President of Armenia will have meetings with the Speaker of the National Assembly and the Prime Minister of the Syrian Arab Republic.
Serzh Sargsyan will make a statement on the Armenian-Syrian relations in the Damascus University. He will also meet with the representatives of the Armenian community of Damascus and visit historical and cultural sites of the city. The cast of the Spendiarian National Opera and Ballet Theatre will perform A. Khatchatrian’s Spartak in the Opera House of Damascus. This event is organized under the high patronage of the First Ladies of Armenia and Syria.
In the framework of his visit, the President of Armenia will visit also Aleppo and Deir Zor, where he will meet with the representatives of local authorities and representatives of the Armenian communities of Aleppo and Deir Zor.
